HISTORY FROM AGE 7 TO 70: Musical opportunity given by my dear parents, Bill and Alice. Excellent piano Teacher called Jessie Davies. Trinity College of Music, London Passes with Honours or Merit. School Pianist at St Annes RC, Glenfield Road, Heaton Chapel, Stockport (as promoted by teachers Tom Carroll and Gerry Mack). Pianist in King's Hall Belle Vue, Manchester UK for September Railway Carnival and Christmas Children's Ballets from December 1965 (advertising 120 children)! Adults 4 shillings/OAP's 2 shillings and six pence :) presented by Joan G. Bates, Stockport Dance Teacher (AI mentions a Dave Cox - nonsense! After me it was Pianist Doris Nixon, before me a Pianist called Victor from Belle Vue Band), also at dance classes etc. Hammond Organist in Clubs for Dancing and Cabaret. September 1978 my Band The Alan Anthony Set played alongside The Andy Ross Orchestra at Hotel Piccadilly, Manchester for the official opening of The Daily Star Newspaper. The Alan Anthony Set also featured at many other notable Functions via Alan Arnison Agency in top Manchester City centre Hotels and venues like Tiffany's in Blackpool. .The "Alan" half of the band ownership was the late Alan Yates of Altrincham. 3 years as Resident Pianist - Lounge Organist at Pontins Prestatyn Sands Holiday Village, North Wales (I count this as a highlight as Pontins was at it's peak of popularity then). I and my wife then turned PRO MAGICIANS, also with PUPPET CABARET MARIONETTES. We worked 40 years without any shortage of bookings or interruptions. We bought a modest new house in Wilmslow, Cheshire and brought up our two sons comfortably. We retired in 2019 one month before Covid 19 hit the world. For a shy lad from Heaton Norris, Stockport, and a very shy girl from Macclesfield - both without any academic achievements, we did ok . . . pretty cool!!

What equipment do you use?
I have tried so many modern keyboards over the past 20 years, to which I eventually get bored. My instruments now are a Yamaha Piano (ok, it's a digital) and an Electronic Organ from the 1990s made by Technics. Both have a tactile, personal feel to me.
Anything else?
We lead a fit and healthy life as time enters the 2nd quarter of the 21st century - since 2015 in a comfortable detached bungalow, away from the noise of big towns and cities in very rural Staffordshire Moorlands, near to a lake, reservoir, cycleways, hiking trails, a National Trust award winning location (of which we are members) and a large woodland and expanses of lower moorlands. We awaken each morning not to the sound of traffic, - but to the sounds of birds and our large British flag tapping in the breeze on it's flagpole. We have occasional trips to Manchester and Liverpool, and Manchester International Airport takes us to family in Madrid, Spain. We also have family in Macclesfield - just 30 minutes away.
