Not familiar with the original but love the way you've handled this song & added a touch of your own distinctive style. Excellent guitar work & great vocals!

well done mate, great cover and a really cool song (both the og and your cover!) love what you've done with this David, it rocks but it's also got that 'suave 80s' OMD, Modern English (melt with you) vibe/feel which is one of your trademarks! Agree re; Punk and it's quick demise but yep, totally necessary to have happen so as to then give way to the brilliance of what was to come next, - Human League, New Order, Japan, Numan, Dave Stewart, Depeche, Vince Clarke et al.

great track David, really love the pared back 'less is more' approach - clarity abounds with such a mix, excellent guitar/vocals and overall a 'big' solid sound for such a stripped down version - 'grow some funk of your own' as Elt & Bern would have said back in '75!

takes me back to 1979 when synth pop was truly emerging as a genre in it's own right, thanks to Bowie's Heroes & Low two years earlier and Tubeway Army's smash Are Friends Electric. Great track, love it!

In case you're still wondering, it's the voice of Charles Bukowski.

Brilliant job David...this track is eerily & disturbingly very accurate. We are sold this idea but it's messing with something highly dangerous. Love the atmospherics & the production/concept is outstanding. Great guitar work & blend of effects & samples!

Headphones are essential for the full trippy experience...the use of certain 'recreational substances' to further enhance it is obviously up to you ;)

Listening to this again after quite a few years, I really can't say how on earth I did all this or even how long it must have taken me to do it. Hours and hours I guess. I remember listening to DJ Rusty Allen on Radio Scarborough (Radio 270) in the North Sea. What amazing times to be a teenager...Pass me a tissue please.

yeah! you've got to do more of this stuff mate, it's such a brilliant sonic soundscape which elevates music to a level of intelligence and art - conveying such serious content by way of blending music, fx and samples brings to mind the likes of Floyd/Waters - your use of the Yamaha and sound you achieve with it is so cool and not only do you capture the urgency here (toward end) but you also in first half create such an 'at ease, exact science' feel that the world's sort of adopted to make ourselves comfortable by 'living next door' to reactors without question...we both love this type of work mate big time, it's a 10 and want more (there's an album at least here!)

Once again, the band, Public Service Broadcasting, probably springs to mind. I do like what they do. Their mini album, The War Room, is one of theirs that I like and have on my ancient, but still working I-Pod. I hope that the uncomfortable feeling of an 'almost incident', comes across with this. 'Phew', I think we narrowly avoided a very close-shave there.

I listened to the original and you’re right the vocals in the high range are a challenge and I would have to have a good warm up to take that on ! Well done for taking it on . Going low on the vocals doesn’t detract from a great cover and the guitars are fantastic and I love the harmoniser part . I hadn’t heard it before it’s a great track and now it’s yours ! Nice one David !
