The Richman Brothers Band - Executive Producer : Jeff W. Richman By Steve Richman : In 1964 Billy Joel and me had piano lessons in Hicksville N.Y. from Mort Estrin. In 1967 we had the same producer Tommy Kaye. He was introduced to me. Billy Joel told me he liked my music when we shook hands at the club he worked at, My House. In 1968 we played at a big club on Long Island, My Fathers Place. In 1966, I saw The Rolling Stones at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York. 1966 I recorded my
songwriter-singer It's about the songs. I'm not so much a singer-songwriter as a songwriter-singer. I do not fit into a genre. The genre fits the song. They range from rock to country ditties, from standard lounge ballads to power pop, from blue-eyed r&b to country rock. I sing almost all the vocals and play almost all the music (mostly on keyboard) but, as I said, it's about the songs.
