think back to when Gary Numan wrote and recorded 'Cars' in 1979 and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools... can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll..

Story behind the song
well who hasn't heard the OG riff which pretty much became the call to rock in the mid sixties... Mick's lyrics very much stand the test of time with laundry soap and cigarettes now replaced with mindless online ordering, celebrity vanity plays and mediocre, yet grossly sought after consumerist junk masquerading as 'must have' product so one can be the same as the other proving that little has changed by way of trying to achieve satisfaction... Bruce and myself on this cover, with a mix and arrangement sounding pretty much like us, lol...we've gone for some cool synths, some frenetic energy and also injected some fx and faux drama, which interestingly adds some humour to this busy 3 minutes and forty six seconds..

It's always a brave move to take a classic like this & cover it, but you've done an amazing job! I love the extra energy you've given it, the new elements are just right - enough to bring about a different angle but done without losing any of the original appeal. Your version makes the original sound a bit boring ! Love it ! Great use of instrumentation to beef up the main riff and great vocals ! Brilliant guys !
