Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
This is a song that lots of bands used to play back in the day. I first remember hearing it on my elder brother's first Rolling Stones LP. He liked The Rolling Stones and The Pretty Things. This version is a lot more immediate and rocky than The Stones version on that LP. It's a fun song to play.
Lyrics
Walking The Dog (Rufus Thomas) 1963 Mary Mack, dressed in black, silver buttons all down her back. High to low, tip to toe, she broke a needle now she can't sew. Walking the dog, I'm just a walking the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how to walk the dog. Ask your Mama for 15 cents, to see the elephant jump the fence, It jumped so high, it touched the sky, didn't come back 'till the 4th. of July Walking the dog, I'm just a walking the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how to walk the dog. guitar solo: Walking the dog, I'm just a walking the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how to walk the dog. Mary Mack, dressed in black, silver buttons all down her back. High to low, tip to toe, she broke a needle now she can't sew. Walking the dog, I'm just a walking the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how to walk the dog. guitar solo: Walking the dog, I'm just a walking the dog. If you don't know how to do it, I'll show you how to walk the dog. (ad-lib vocals) ... I'm just a walking, just a walking etc... extra guitar bits and pieces.

I was thinking about doing more blues tracks and having heard this now I’m more inspired! Great live feel performance! The vocals and guitar are brilliant . I will have to be on my A game to be as good as this though ! Very impressive David !

Brilliant! Fantastic! Well, I imagine it is. Listen to it in just a moment. Not that I have any time. I was out of it long ago. Back in a moment. With... COFFEE!!
