Story behind the song
I was asked to cover this by a friend . It was also a favourite of my late brother so I had to do it. who I played in my first band with so a bit emotional for me to do. Gary Brooker (R.I.P) had an awesome voice. This version is based on his live performance in Denmark 2006. Loved putting the keys together on this .
Lyrics
We skipped the light fandango Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kind of seasick The crowd called out for more The room was hummimg harder As the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink the waiter brought a tray And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale Keys break She said there is no reason and the truth is plain to see But I wandered through my playing cards and would not let her be One of sixteen vestal virgins who were leaving for the coast and although my eyes were open They might just as well have been closed And so it was that later as the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale keys break And so it was that later As the miller told his tale That her face at first just ghostly Turned a whiter shade of pale

Skipping the light fandango listening to this, I think this was the first 5 minute song played on UK Radio ?.

Outstanding. A timeless classic and this is an arrangement I’ve never heard before. Superb job on the vocal - as you say Gary Brooker had a fantastic voice and you’ve really done home justice here. Excellent!

This is fantastic. A tremendous achievement to make such an authentic sounding cover of this song. You seem to have stamped your own sound onto it and made it your own. Wow. How do you do this...some kind of magic at work here... :)

This song is not an easy one to take on and you nailed it my friend! Another song that showcases your versatility as an artist. I remember sitting in church imagining this song played on the 100 year old pipe organ.
