Story behind the song
The song was a mismash of ideas from all members of Fleetwood Mac. Started with Mick Fleetwood and basist John Mcvie Jamming with iconic outro Bass riff .Lindsey Buckingham and Chrtistine Mcvie came up with ther rest of the music and Stevie Nicks wrote the lyrics about the break up between herself and Buckingham and sang it to eachother on stage ! I decided to cover it as my daughter Maizie, who is only 13, wanted to sing on another song with me after doing a great job singing the kids part on Another brick in the wall .What better than to pick one of my fav Fleeetwood mac's songs for her to sing on ! The vocals of the two female singers would be more of a challenge so we did It ! We did a kind of hybrid version between the studio version and the live dance tour version which is a bit hotter.
Lyrics
Listen to the wind blow, watch the sunrise Run in the shadows ,damn your love , damn your lies and if you don't love me now, you will never love me again I can still hear saying you would never break the chain and if you don't love me now you will never love me again I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain Listen to the wind blow ,down comes the night Run in the shadows, damn your love damn your lies Break the silence, damn the dark damn the night and if you don't love me now you will never love me again I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain And if you don't love me now you you will never love me again I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain And if you don't love me now you will never love me again I can still hear you saying you would never break the chain Iconic Bass riff and guitar break Chain keep us together Chain keep us together (running in the shadows ) Chain keep us together (running in the shadows) Chain keep us together (running in the shadows) Chain keep us together (running in the shadows) Chain keep us together (running in the shadows)

Stunning. Once again you have taken an revered classic, which no sane person would attempt, and absolutely nailed it! Fantastic job - unbelievably good vocals from Maisie and you, great guitar work, but above all you have captured the magic and excitement that this song has. Bravo!

Wow...what an exceptional cover. Maizie's vocals are so skillfully sung. Hard to believe that she is only 13 . Such a mature sound. She is obviously got a promising future in music...even if it is only in home recording at the moment. Your recreation of this well known song utterly is brilliant.

Another spin. 'Top of the World Ma' as James Cagney said. Congrats on the No 1!

Yourself and Maizie have done a stellar job on this really difficult FM song. I was lucky enough to see them live with the full line up a few years ago. I have to say you captured every part to perfection. Fantastic cover from the vocals and harmonies to the awesome guitar work. Well done to you both!

You both showed exceptional skill in doing such a great cover of this classic. A very difficult job to take on, especially given the musicianship & popularity of the original. Blown away by what you've both accomplished. Love the way you've nailed all the parts, drums, guitar & bass. You captured the lead vocal perfectly & Maizie's backing vocals are great - excellent timing & perfect pitch. Production & mix are first class. Definitely has that wow factor!

Wow, you guys nailed it! The idea to try a hybrid really worked out well. Kudos to Maizie for taking on such a song and pulling it off. Both vocal parts are sung with expertise. I always loved LB's guitar work and the outro here is expertly done Steve. 5 stars all around! Looking forward to hearing more.
