Story behind the song
I think everyone of a certain age knows the story behind this classic song. I wanted to record it as part of my bucket list of songs that Ive played live over the yeras.
Lyrics
Big wheels keep on turning carry me home to see my kin singing songs about the southland I miss Alabamy once again ( and I think it's a sin) Heard mister Young sing about her I heard 'ole Neil he put her down I hope Neil Young will remember a southern man don't need him around ( any how ) Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue Sweet home Alabama Lord I'm coming home to you guitar break In Birmingham they love the govenor ( boo boo boo ! ) now we all did what we could do Watergate does not bother me Does your conscience bother you ( tell the truth ) Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue Sweet home Alabama Lord I'm coming home to you Guitar break Muscle shoals has got the swampers They've been known to pick a song or two (yes they do !) Lord they get me off so much They pick me up when I'm feeling blue (How 'bout you ? ) Sweet home Alabama where the skies are so blue Sweet home Alabama Lord I'm coming home to you Repeat chorus Insane piano outro !

Hell yeah! This is bob on, and then some! I’ve just returned from a trip to “the South Lands” - this was on my playlist and you’ve conjured up great memories. Even back in the Punk years we always loved Skynyrd and this would have been one of my bucket list tunes too except I could never hit that F#! That’s the enduring thing about your songs Steve - the sheer quality of the vocals, I can never get there. If only you could sing some of my tunes…

This takes me back to the 70's, it's a great song - upbeat, but makes a point & is a great way of hitting back! You've done a fantastic job, very close to the original. Respect to Bob too for his keys.

Tone tone tone. Sweet guitars. You are a southern rocker. Perhaps down south of London ? lol Nailing the leads. And you got the keys going. Neat. Excellent Cover very faithful to the original.
