Being an European I do have taste for this kind of melodic rock with that heavy underlying style. It reminds of some of the Finnish rock bands, such as 'Viikate'. Sombre but well done. I've re-posted my 'Tribute' tune as 'Tribute Revisited'. I posted this piece a while back but I wasn't happy with it so I remixed and added a teaser for my next tune at the end o this one. I hope you like it as much as I did putting it together!

All's good here (so far!) thanks Alex. Let's hope 2021 is a much better year for everyone. I'm sure you'll be inspired to write some new music soon...sometimes it's good to take a break for a while, it often re-charges the batteries!

Hi Alex. I guess you are right. An acoustic version would probably sound much more Flamenco, but I think I will leave it at the Metal version :0) My 3 sons are all engaged in music somehow. My oldest son is a professional guitarist, playing with some of the biggest acts in Denmark. My next oldest son is a music teacher and has a side job, producing and songwriting for a a young, quite successful artist. My youngest son is a producer, songwriter and artist. He recently signed a deal with a recording and management agency and is very busy doing sessions. None of them got rich so far :0) Music is a tough business and they need something to fall back on, to pay the bills. But they are doing OK and they love being able to work with music! I probably influenced them, as they have heard and seen me play, all through their childhood. Take care and have a great weekend!

Hi Alex. I never had Flamenco in my mind, when I recorded the song. I played to my youngest son and he pointed out, that the chord progression sounded like Flamenco. Not the rhythms or anything else. He was talking about the chord progression as palyed in this flamenco video at 2:58: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B6jOUzBKYc So it was not me calling it Flamenco, I just repeated, what some people would say about it. Thanks again for your thoughts! Stay safe.

Hi Alex. Thank you for your comment on "Stop the Train". The jazz and flamenco are only hints, seen in that the opening chord is a B add(4) add(#5)/F#. It sounds very jazzy on an acoustic guitar. My son spotted the flamenco in the chord progression - the chords move like that flamenco piece that most guitarists can do, it is an E-chord moved up to 1st and 3rd fret. But overall you are right that it is progressive rock :) Always a pleasure to read your thoughts and great you take the time to listen carefully and tell what you think. It is worth waiting for! Take care!

We got some rain so the air is breathable again. Fires are still a problem, but the local ones are out or under control. Hope all is well there.

No, up in Washington State, south of Seattle. Not as bad here, but there's a fire that has taken a few homes a few miles from me.

Alex, I understand, weather affects us more than most like to admit. I was on a roll with being productive, but the last few days it's been hard to be active due to smoke from wildfires throughout our area, worst we've ever seen. With that and the heat and my heart/lung issues, I'm not getting much done.
