When, after 72 years of use, the marble steps leading into the lobby of this building become worn, they are not replaced or rebuilt, but covered for protection with plates of corrugated iron.

On behalf of all the fans here on soundclick. We are all going to dearly miss Vern. This world needed more people just like him with his amazing friendliness, wit, and lyrics. I hope this page continues for many more people such as I to share his vast memories of living in rural America. Simplicity is something we seemed to have lost in many aspects of our daily lives. But Vern brought it all back the memories only he could tell with his banjo on his lap strumming along. He will be missed.

I see you stopped by. Had some recent inspiration with the synthesizers and realizing that I can sing with my guitar.

Thanks so much Jamey for the kind words re; JL cover - yes he certainly knew how to address what was bugging him just as much as he could rock it out with the best of them - Rock'n'Roll (the court settlement Lp) was simply one of my fave Lp's as a kid! And on glorious, tangible, tactile vinyl! Cheers!

hey Jamey, saw what you wrote about listening to cd's and vinyl and up until only recently I was in that cohort big time! I resisted 'Spotify' like you couldn't believe - my kids would make fun (and try and coax me to use it at same time, not understanding the more fun they made the more stubborn I was, lol! - now it's played everyday by me, haha!) but several years back we started the whole downsize thing so I sold 'em all, vinyl, cd's, box sets, all went...only things I kept were the 2009 box set remastered collection of every Beatles release; the #1's (Beatles again); my collectors edition remastered copy of 'all things must pass' plus remasters of PF, 'meddle', 'dark side', 'wish', 'animals', 'wall' and 'final cut' - thought if I was marooned on a desert island they'd all get me through, lol!

Well I have to confess I don’t listen to CdS or records as I don’t have anything to play them on. I have a real cheap turntable with shitty speakers that I bought for my daughter and use that sparingly for records. But streaming is hard to beat I can listen to anything just by asking.

Cheers Jamey, thanks for stopping by, appreciate it! It's one of our last tracks we did together as my time's now fully with best mate here in AUS but I loved the tune so much (and it's beautiful piano, fiddle and guitar) I had to get involved - technology, synths, programs and gadgetry can't replace what the heart knows to be just right, thanks mate!
