What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.

Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file
you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.

Band/artist history
I was classically trained at the young age of 2..(and hated it!). Started out with the recorder, then continued on with piano, organ, guitars. Taught myself a few other instruments (and I'm not really good in any of them). At about 19 I stopped playing sheet music and studying other people's works and began to write my own. At that point, mostly grounded in Blues and Jazz improvisations. Formed a band (later on a duo) and got our first gig. Continued playing and touring for many years, which kept us fed through college. Later on, I discovered that I was a tolerable musician, but really better behind the console and helping musicians sound the best they could. These days, Schumacher's own recordings are mostly individual projects (all instruments played by myself) or collaborations with very gifted artists and lyricists.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
There were a lot of special moments, but one of my favorites was playing at a club and Edwyn Starr walked in, had a listen and a beer with us after the show.
Your musical influences
Really anything progressive, folky, and creative no matter which style. For example, Jethro Tull, Marillion,Pink Floyd but also Blues, Jazz and some old school Rock like Free etc. Didn't shy away from Metal or hardcore punk either.

I work with both real instruments (piano, organ, guitars, mandolin, etc.)as well as a multitude of synthesizers and soft synths, predominantly cause I cannot fit an entire symphonic orchestra in my basement.

very passionate.... beautifully composed... love the lyrics...
Pretty modal at first, but then suddenly some harmonic changes 0:51. I like that, that really spices things up. The accordion (I think it's one, but i'm not sure) seems to be pretty noisy, perhaps a noice reduction would be appropriate. Nicely layed out strings, I especially like the Part at 2:10. Again, chord changes at at 3:10 are really nice, resembling to the ones already mentioned. Ending feels a bit a untypical, but i kinda like it :)

Synthwork is really cool, especially the arps. Got some Pink Floyd Vibe to it, which I like (especially in the solo, great sound btw). The fast sung lyrics are what really make the verse interesting. First I wanted to say that something doesn't seem to work, but it's just odd (in a postive sense) but it actually works and is *very* memorable. But there seems something wrong with the first echo at about 4:00. At the end the drums seem to be off (rhythmically) a litte. If live drums, perhaps slip edit if, if VSTi/Samples, quantize a bit? Again, the voice is great, so are the accoustic patterns and the solo.

The song features very unexpected moments. First the rather progressive synthline, a mere noisy fragment, rather than melodic in nature combined with a campfire-style guitar works really well. At 1:03 the next change. While I *really* like the smoky voice, i'm not entirely sold to the bassdrum. The Break Part at around 2:00 is really cool, I especially like the tremolos. Kick at 3:50 is much more nicer :), though both are pretty hard. Nice guitar solo, btw., also like the guitartone and the echo. Overall, great work!
