POT-HED
Mission Irrecoverable Mission Irrecoverable
This one is the highlight of the album for me. I love the "adventure show" feel of it. Nice quick tempo to get the pulse going.
Digicow Digicow
I can hear a calf moo in here somewhere. You'll know it when you hear it. It's near the end of the track.
13v2: Scream 13v2: Scream
I like the cymbal melody in this one. The overall feel of this one is kinda like getting stuck in the middle of a swarm of locusts or something. The title refers to the feedback scream I get at the end.
MEAT-hed to MEAT-HED MEAT-hed to MEAT-HED
I came up with the title for this track when I was living in Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast, Australia). I was painting the bonnet of a friend's car and observing the locals interact in the tropical heat. That's why people become alcoholics.
And What the fis Your Name? And What the f*** is Your Name?
The title of this track comes from a line out of David Lynch's Lost Highway.
Pot o Gold Pot o Gold
This actually the second track written for this album (the first one was "A Walk in the Black Everything").
Mr Spanky Mr Spanky
This one marks the start of the new way of composing and recording that I employed for this album. I thought it was so successful that I am still using the same basic techniques to this date.
Life on a Stick Life on a Stick
Real bass and a few other noises and beats from a friend of mine Beau Deeley. We both wrote about half of the stuff (the first bass line is mine). I sequenced it all and mixed it down.
Gettin' Down ta Business Gettin' Down ta Business
This one was written with another friend of mine in mind. He was a fan of the hardcore techno/electronica style and I thought I'd adopt the feel for this one, so he had something to listen to and enjoy when he heard this album.
FYou Billy! F*** You Billy!
I was watching "Neighbours" one day. Back in the day when there was a character called Billy. He was a stupid and insipid character that I loved to hate.
Obscured Circling Harpies (2000 remix) Obscured Circling Harpies (2000 remix)
Woo Hoo! We made it! Take a load off, get your breath back. Phew... this is the remix I mentioned all the way back in the first album.
Chocolate Chops Chocolate Chops
This is another exercise in distortion. I lova da fuzz.
James Bong 000 James Bong 000
This is my version of the James Bond Theme. Sounds like his martini might have been more than shaken tho.
How's Ya Father, Who's Yo Momma? How's Ya Father, Who's Yo Momma?
Yeah, that's right! I said Yo Momma! I'm all in your face and split! I'm gesticulatin' wildly! Look at my rings, man! I'll cutchew bad!
Strange Grind #1 (2000 Remix) Strange Grind #1 (2000 Remix)
A bit of a spit and polish on this one. A lot nicer on the ear in this version. I ended up remixing everything and re-rendering the drums too. This is how I wanted it to sound the first time around.
Son of Fishboy Son of Fishboy
Wouldn't be a POT-HED album without Fishboy TM. If you buy the first cd, you get to see Fishboy TM. He looks like an evil Conan O'Brien. Probably because he is. Don't look at him.
Reintegrator Reintegrator
This one is a musical palindrome. I think it's a nice end to the album. I'm pretty happy with the drum pattern. And that's all she wrote.
Behind Her Gaze Behind Her Gaze
I wrote this in Cairns as an example of my new composition/recording methods for my dad. I think he liked it and he doesn't usually like distortion.
Wearing My Father's Face Wearing My Father's Face
Bass, guitars, keyboard and drums all me. Still working on this one.
Stephen Hawkings (It's So fing BIG!!!) Stephen Hawkings (It's So f***ing BIG!!!)
This is still being worked on. Kinda similar to the stuff I was trying to do with my bands.
