POT-HED
So... You Wanna Walk off a Building? So... You Wanna Walk off a Building?
This is actually where this album really starts. This was the first track I ever did on the computer. It was on a 30 minute demo and I wrote it, mixed it down and recorded it under time. Boo-yah!
Where Did They Go? Where Did They Go?
This one was the next track (see previous track info) written in this method. The name is a thinly-veiled sarcastic jibe at my former band members. Lazy, lazy bastards... oh the lazy bastards... mutter... mutter... etc....
Cultural Desert Culture Cultural Desert Culture
Again with the bi***y! This time it's a dig at Brisbane. You wouldn't know this if you didn't read this here (unless you knew me) and now you have a preconceived notion of the place. Bwahahahahahaha!!!!! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!!
7 to 9 7 to 9
The title of this track refers it's time signature as opposed to an actual time. As with most pieces on this album, this one was composed and recorded within the imposed 30 minute time frame.
Lobby Music Lobby Music
A nice little respite after the last track. Kinda. After a while, the loop takes on a slightly sinister tone as it regimentally loops such a playful tune. Thought it was too jazz/lounge to fit the genre of elevator music.
TVT TVT
OK. If you are reading this before hearing this track: don't read any further. go away. no. really. shoo!
Poke Me in the Eye With a Sharp Stick, Please Poke Me in the Eye With a Sharp Stick, Please
Ouch!!!! Hey, I never signed up for this!!!! What did I ever do to you? Oh, that's right. hmmmm, you got me there, alright... but hey, that was freestyling on one soft-synth, man. it was like pure-wank!
Lobotomy Lobotomy
Man, I'm sorry. So was this one (refer to previous song info). and how. but it's strangely meditative and relaxing for such a harsh mix of harsh tweaks.
Obscured Circling Harpies Obscured Circling Harpies
Wow, That friggin' song won't stop! It's STILL going! Now I know why my dad said it made him want to put a hammer through his stereo. Oh my god!!! Oh my dear god!!!
Seeing Time Seeing Time
OK, this one is a pretty invasive piece of noise: but during the course of exploring distortion and the resulting harmonics, this kinda thing happens.
Evil Calypso Evil Calypso
Eek! I said stop looking at me! I was drunk! I meant it at the time! I'm sorry!
Frog Astaire's Last Finale Frog Astaire's Last Finale
Weird lil number: refer to "Story behind the song" section.
Spatz Spatz
Hmmn. Yes... well... that sweepy sound is a broom I sampled... um... yes... hello yes hello... yes yes... hello...
Strange Grind #1 Strange Grind #1
The gongy-sound and the guitary distorted bit are both played on my trusty classical accoustic guitar.
Bongo Track Bongo Track
A one string violin, coupla soft-synths and yes, that is megaphone feedback. I always liked this one. Took it home to meet the folks. Now it doesn't talk to me anymore. I do work late though.
Mood Muzak Mood Muzak
Sorry about the bit rate/quality on this one, I had to crunch it so I could post it.
A Walk in the Black Everything A Walk in the Black Everything
The title of this track is the third emotional outlook in the "glass" theory: 01- The glass is half full. 02- The glass is half empty. 03- The glass is dirty (I wish everyone was dead).
9 9
This album is basically the "live" album. Although it never was performed "live" in front of an audience, it was composed and recorded realtime. I like the phat keyboard sound at the start of this track.
Slow Teeth Slow Teeth
Love that saw tooth, man. You can get some really crisp timbre out of it. Square is a nice soft bed for it. Get outta bed people, can't you read the sines?
