Experimental Sounds

My name is James Robinson, notv is the name for my solo recording project which I have used for nearly 20 years now in Christchurch, I have decided to try to expand my fan base from a dozen people in Chch to, I dunno, a coupla dozen people. My music I guess comes out of wanting to make music but not having the patience to learn an instrument properly. Currently I have been trying to squeeze noises out of a computer, it use to be a guitar, keyboard, drum machine fourtrack, kazoo etc...
Band/artist history
NoTV, the solo project of J-mz Robinson since 1992, embodies the characteristics that originally defined kRkRkRk & which still play a role in its personality today: imagination, a willingness to experiment, a certain fixation on technology & an intuitive approach to recording & performance. NoTV's stylistic influences - early 80's punk/new wave & electro-industrial music - were held in common with many of the label's participants, in the 1992-97 period, but nowhere are they more apparent than in J-mz's uniquely idiosyncratic approach to the medium...from http://go.to/krkrkrk
Have you performed in front of an audience?
What I used to do was to, in the period of time coming up to a gig, work out drum machine programmes, lyrics, guitar sounds, keyboard sounds, tapes, then on the day of the gig, randomly match them together, get tanked up and go for it, but since giving up drinking I have put aside playing solo as too scary, though I have done a coupla live gigs with bands I've been involved with, but that too is too nerve wracking so at the moment I am not playing live.
Your musical influences
