When I realised Beth's situation (a pseudonym), I cried on and off for literally weeks afterwards. Her situation was a mirror image of my childhood: I wanted to get away from home because of sexual abuse, and she wanted to go home because of it. I absolutely HAD to help her! I was driven by feelings that threatened to swamp me at times, and I directed some of that energy into this song. You have no idea how pleased I am by the reaction to it! Thank you so much for your kind remarks, Nick x

I just listened to Angel in Paradise and will look for more. Wonderful song and recording. It might be long for radio or whatever makes songs sell nowadays, but I couldn't get enough. It's a great song and you're a great musician and singer. I love it. The world needs your music.

Hi Sven and thanks for your message. Yes, I still use the Seck 18-8-2. My studio is in the living room of my council flat, and I have everything running through the Seck: TV, DVD, VCR, radio, tuner, turntable, minidisc etc, the lot. That way I can record from any source onto any source. The reason I bought the Seck was because it was the only half-decent desk I could buy second-hand locally for under £1,000. I had no idea what the specs were when I got it, but after I wired it up and gave it a test run I was delighted with the warm sound, the definition, and the lack of noise. It's also very reliable: only one dry solder joint in the PSU since 1993 and a slight drop in signal strength in the line input on channel 1, which isn't a problem because I have 17 other channels to play with. You say many albums were recorded using the Seck; can you let me know more about this? I'm very curious to find out more. Many thanks for the compliments, and I hope to hear from you again very soon. Hello Nick! Ran into your page when doing research on SECK 18-8-2 mixing console. Great music! Do you still use the SECK? I've had mine for several years and I use it for tracking and monitoring. I was gona put it to a rest by getting Focusrite preamps and a control station for monitoring.. bought the Focusrite and quess what? The pres on the SECK are much better! Believe it or not... there's no way I can get as good sound for tracking using the Focusrite as I do using the SECK. No wonder it was a popuilar mixer in the UK 20th years ago and many albums recorded using it. Just wanted to share since you have one too:-) Take care, Svenni
