I've been writing and recording songs since forever. :-)
Hiyah,
I've been writing songs since I was 7 and recording them since I was 13. My home studio is my habitat and I don't play live (although I did play live in the early '90s for a couple of years).
I've worked with several bands in previous studios including the Portishead band 'Airbus' (2 albums), who later worked with trip-hop outfit 'Portishead' for their platinum-selling 'Dummy' album.
Other clients at Alma Vale Studio included Blue Aeroplanes, Brilliant Corners, Cindy Stratton, New Model Army, The Montgomery Clifts et al.
When the studio closed in 1991 I offered my services as an all-in-one session/backing band and recording studio for songwriters, where songwriters would come to my home and go away 10-12 hours later with their song on cassette, with me playing whatever was required (drum programming, guitars, bass, keyboards, harmony vocals etc).
Around this time I went to a songwriter audition held by Roger Cook (yes, THAT Roger Cook). He said I was by far the best songwriter in the Bristol UK area and that he was looking for a 'hit song' from me, and to 'lighten up a bit'. Yeah, as if...
After a successful series of shows on Portishead (the town) community radio station (Posset FM) in 1996 came a period of work at a studio in Shipham, Somerset, producing and recording various bands whilst also composing jingles for advertising and radio.
After that folded in 1999 I offered my services to songwriters again but this time with the songwriter going away 10-12 hours later with their song digitally recorded and on CD, thanks to new technology.
I'm single, sort of engaged to a woman in Thailand but we're in no hurry and I like to keep to myself. But music requires publicity, so here I am typing this...
I really hope some of you like some of my music, and thanks for listening to it and being interested enough to read this.
Cheers,
Nick x

Hello Nick,
Thank you so much for your kind words for our Bettina! Thanks for stopping by my site, as well.
I really love your music--you're a great writer and very tallented on guitar! I'm totally down with your stuff! A couple of your songs reminded me of a project I worked on--"drenched", particularly a song called "Kid from Queer Street". Others reminded me of Kinks, Bowie, Buggles, CSNY...... Lots of variety in your writing--I really like that. Great harmonies!!! Speaking as a performer-I'd love to do some of your stuff!
Cheers!
