Nerds While AZN
Match The Nerd With The Voice Match The Nerd With The Voice
Track #2 from "Straight Outta Cherry ILL." Teamed up with Eric Ly for this one. This was technically the first time Jun ever rapped on a track--he switched his style up greatly later on. SPECIAL GUEST: E-Ly
Cheatin' Cheatin'
Track #3. This is Jun's hit that stayed on the top of the Soundclick charts for a longass time. It's still one of our most downloaded songs to this day.
The Heart's Reality The Heart's Reality
Track #4. One of Jeff's biggest hits, "The Heart's Reality" was one of our first songs to not use a rap beat in the slightest. The beat's actually a Yo-Yo-Ma piece...Jeff does a powerful job rapping over it.
Ride Ride
Track #5. This is our probably our most unpopular song. I might go back and remix it sometime soon, but for now it's gonna stay the way it is. It's really not that bad of a track. SPECIAL GUESTS: E-Ly & Hirenizzle
Struggle To The Core Struggle To The Core
Track #6. Jun wrote the lyrics and was originally going to be the only one on this track. I decided to throw in something I'd written at the last minute just for fun. This turned out to be one of our most-downloaded songs.
Your Life Your Life
Track #7. One of my favorite tracks, even though people don't talk about it all that much. First time I sampled a Japanese (okay, she's technically Korean, but whatever) artist, which I've been doing a lot more of lately. SPECIAL GUEST: BoA
Ain't No Love Ain't No Love
Track #8. This one's a bit short, but back when I was making it I couldn't figure out a decent way to extend the beat. Anyway, it's worth listening to just for the intro.
Final Fantasy Final Fantasy
Track #9. Jeff's best song yet, in my opinion. The lyrics might not mean as much to you if you're not a big videogame fan, but the message still rings pretty clear.
Take You To Church Take You To Church
Track #10. One of the most aggressive songs on here. I'd been listening to Shook Ones Pt. 2 too much the day I made this, I think. The song didn't come out the way I wanted it to. Jeff, oddly enough, likes this track a lot though.
Chosen One Chosen One
Track #11. Jun croons about how much he loves his "little protege," Joe 314. The beginning samples from Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" was something I did to be mean. Still pretty funny though, huh? SPECIAL GUEST: Joe 314
Unleashed Unleashed
Track #12. Our "club song." Flash, AKA Rick Chang, came up with the concept, picked the beat, and jumpstarted the writing process. We tried pretty hard to come up with a chorus for this song, but gave up after a while. SPECIAL GUEST: Flash
Nerd 'Em Up Nerd 'Em Up
Track #13. This one got major rotation when we released it back in September, shortly before the one year anniversary of Nerds While AZN. This track came out the same time as "Silent Storm"--one of the few times we've brought out two songs at once.
Silent Storm Silent Storm
Track #14. I wrote this by putting together two separate verses that I'd written and didn't know what to do with. The chorus came next, and the rest is history. Quite a few people tell me they can't understand the imagery on this song...
Friends Friends
Track #15. Jun's ode to his friends. Over the beat to that Mario Winans song, no less! Some of the best lyrics Jun's ever written are in here.
Story Of A Warrior Story Of A Warrior
Here's Track #16 from "Straight Outta Cherry ILL." Probably one of the best things we've ever released; everyone stepped their game up for this one. I'm still proud over how I got the Nate Dogg hook to fit this beat. SPECIAL GUEST: Nate Dogg
