Balsa Racers is Oscar Laun and anybody else who happens to be at G.O.Recording Studio. But primarily Oscar.
Balsa Racers is my solo project. It originally was called "Dewey Wins", but the litigiousness of the Chicago SunTimes (not with my band but with a band in the same name genre called "Dewey Defeats Truman") and the break-up of the band put that name to rest. Balsa Racers is currently a one man studio operation and solo acoustic performance. I do not try to stay within one genre, tho the songs end up being "crafted pop" and less "jam".

Written the day after Halloween after drinking in a bar at The Mustafa Hotel in Kabul. A schizophrenic tale of confused amore'.
Lyrics
5 Color Photographs You take a sit upon the burning oak I take a breather on the sycamore tree Keep on smiling like you know the joke Everything you say is a recording You’re playing games with forces you don’t understand She made it this far, she’s not going to stop You only want her ‘cause she good to show I’m thinking all about her I think I’m going to call her CHORUS: Five color photographs Remorse and trash and me She could’ve made it last You want to move to forcefully You grab a shot of some imported swill I’m trying something that’s impossible to say You call attention to your amazing power of iron will All the time she’s in my brain And I think it’s you I blame CHORUS She’s in everything I say Why won’t it go away It’s a shame how my mind sways When her storm blows across once calm waters You sweep up ashes from your burned out bush I climb up higher in my sycamore tree You won’t be smiling now that you’re the joke You never thought about her Here comes karma’s cold cold shower
