Balsa Racers is Oscar Laun and anybody else who happens to be at G.O.Recording Studio. But primarily Oscar.
Balsa Racers is my solo project. It originally was called "Dewey Wins", but the litigiousness of the Chicago SunTimes (not with my band but with a band in the same name genre called "Dewey Defeats Truman") and the break-up of the band put that name to rest. Balsa Racers is currently a one man studio operation and solo acoustic performance. I do not try to stay within one genre, tho the songs end up being "crafted pop" and less "jam".

Story behind the song
Written after a good friend of mine was diagnosed with MS. A reminder that good friends will be there for you.
Lyrics
Silver I heard through friends on line That there something wrong and I heard this song It's rough, you're tough but that's no consolation I can't imagine how you're feeling, what you're going through you search for silver in the lining of the cloud that's coming down all around you gold and jewels hide Waiting there on the darkest night with a helping light they'll be there I know I'm not the one who occupies your heart since we fell apart But love still lives inside of every single friend just say hello again You search for silver in the lining of the gray fog rolling in Don't miss the diamonds that surround you Waiting there in the darkest night with a helping light they'll be there Lift your eyes You may find your friends are closer than you know Waiting just to show that you are loved I heard through friends on line that there was something wrong And I heard this song
