Story behind the song
Written on graph paper , I was experimenting with time signatures and folk music . This kind of threw off the folk singers I knew who often asked me to play it again and again . Ironically , I knew I wasn't going to be around the people very much longer , just as the lyrics imply .This version features guitars .
