THE BEST LIVE BAND GOING Since its creation in 1998, Old No. 8 has taken its balls-out, whiskey-soaked brand of rock across America with no apologies. Mixing scorching guitar, soulful harmonica, and rich four-part harmonies with tasty lap steel and a country-fried rhythm section that drives this quintet like a runaway freight train, Old No. 8 has built a large, loyal following that comes out in force to listen, to dance and to drink. Combining the talents of five songwriters, Old No.8's live shows are at once both cohesive and unpredictable. With more than 100 original songs and a huge grab bag of covers in its repertoire, the band has yet to play the same set twice.

Story behind the song
Just sick of the bad-rap and stigma of the term "country"...Chorus can double as a patriotic theme...Funny name for a Rock and Roll song...
Lyrics
Goin' back to see my folks out in the country Seems like I've been travelling this road too long When I get back to see my folks out in the country I'll finally step foot on the place where I belong Goin' home Goin' home Back to my roots, back to my boots And back to them cowboy hats I used ta hear the city folk a-puttin' down the country Talk like that would put a tear right in my eye But now that I see the way they got corralled all together Talk like that just breaks out my country pride Country Pride Country Pride I got me some goddamn country pride
