The original recording of this fingerpicking guitar instrumental. This is all one guitar with no double-tracking, a bit rough as I had only just written the piece, and it was still taking shape.

Yet another songwriter-guitarist-singer. In that order. Though I earn my living mostly playing bass.
I play bass with various bands in many genres, and also perform at mainly acoustic-style venues as a solo songwriter-guitarist-singer (in that order)

Story behind the song
I had to remortgage my house to raise money to help my friends, but things went wrong and I came within a whisker of losing my home. So when the future looked very bleak, I used to go into the Acoustic Room at my local music shop and sit and play out my troubles. This tune is one that just sort of happened there, and just seemed to fall under my fingers. It's a fairly standard chord sequence over a fairly obvious bassline, and I just improvised the melody line to create the counterpoint. Now I have a new mortgage with plenty of time to raise the money, and my home is saved, I am so happy :) I re-recorded the tune for my album "Sleeping Dogs Never Lie", and changed the title from "Remortgage Blues" to "Home and Dry", but decided to leave this earlier version here for comparison.
