Voodoo DeVille plays uptempo, good time blues, jump, boogie, and swing.
Voodoo DeVille is a six piece band working out of the Philadelphia area. The band was formed in 1998 by a group of like-minded guys who enjoyed the blues and enjoyed playing them even more. While Chicago blues is our starting point, we've ventured into jump, boogie woogie, early rock 'n roll, and rockabilly. We count many of the greats as our idols and influences but we don't feel bound to stick strictly to one style or one way of playing. If it's fun to play, then it's in our set list. It's never failed - when we have fun, our audience has fun. And that's why we do it.

Story behind the song
My wife is from the South and introduced me to country ham. It seemed like it needed a song.
Lyrics
Hey mama, won't you bring some country ham; Yeah mama, can you bring some country ham; I like it lean and salty, like it better than a leg of lamb. I like it in the morning with two fried eggs; I like it in the daytime on a slice bread; I like it in the evening with beans and collard greens; I like my ham both day and night and any time between; Oh baby, can I get some country ham, I like it smoked and salty, like it better than a candied yam. I like it on the kitchen when the sun comes shinin' in; I like it in a hotel or even a motor inn; I like it on the back porch sittin' on the swing; I like it everywhere I can cause ham is the sweetest thing; Oh baby, can I get some country ham, I like it lean and salty, Ill take it any way I can; I like it with a cold beer to wash down that salty taste; I like it with my bourbon, don't let none go to waste; I like it with a fine wine whenever I go town; I like it with my baby cause she's the sweetest thing around; Oh baby, can I get some country ham, I like it smoked and salty, like it better than strawberry jam. Oh mama, can I get me some country ham; Yeah baby, I need some country ham; I like it lean and salty, just like any other man.
