Story behind the song
I knew I had to write something which I would enjoy listening to over and over again. I enjoy listening to my other songs, of course ;) But I wanted something which would really let me relate to my thought processes during the composing of this particular song. The solemn first half which is dominated by acoustic and symphonic elements lends itself to contrast against the second half of the song, which is primarily dominated by a lot of overdriven guitar and thundering drums, but which also incorporates more acoustic work, but this time is very much is in the background. During the writing of 'Mysterium Tremendum' I began to really get a sense of what was working for me and what wasn't, and the end product is one with which I am very happy.
