I am an independent writer/performer/producer making summery sounds with lots of harmony, guitars, and emotion.
Brian Wilson said of his epic work Pet Sounds, "I wanted to make the listener feel loved." Those words have always remained with me and I hope to share loving, healing sounds with the listener as well.

Story behind the song
I wanted to capture the dignity of the paratroopers in a musical portrait. I will never, ever forget that Christmas at Camp Falcon on Route Irish, the "Highway of Death". Video can be seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Bgr-UfkTUK8
Lyrics
It was Christmas time in Baghdad The Soldiers knew the deal The combat zone had been our home for a year The chapel pews were crowded We knew why we were here I saw a Christmas tree and Manger scene as I wiped away a tear Someone started singing "Silent Night" That dusty room was filled with holy light Christ the Lord was born for us this night Its gonna be alright... Christmas time in Baghdad The Son of God is born The enemy attacks but we drive on Christmas time in Baghdad Six thousand miles from home Say your prayers, lock and load and drive on! (Drive on Soldiers, drive on Soldiers) The Chaplain preached the Gospel While just outside our walls There were terrorists there with roadside bombs Waiting to blow them all We bowed our knees in prayer We raised our voice in praise The One who brought us all together is the Ancient of Days The Son of Mary had touched every soul He'd been with us on every last patrol We grabbed our rifles as we left that place Ready for death to face... Christmas time in Baghdad The Son of God is born The enemy attacks but we drive on Christmas time in Baghdad Six thousand miles from home Say your prayers, lock and load and drive on! (Drive on Soldiers, drive on Soldiers) (c)2005 Old Sarge Music

Christmas Time in Baghdad straight out Rocks! A subject near and dear to your heart that comes shining through. Great work. The middle eastern guitar tones are a great touch.
