A blend of folk and alternative pop inspired by the likes of Peter Gabriel, Elliott Smith, and Jeremy Enigk, Cotton reminds one that melody can relay an emotional message all its own, enhanced by poignant lyrics of human relation, triumph and failure. For those who feel at home with introspective, rainy day melodies that trap just enough hope and pleading to draw the sun through the clouds, Cotton invites you to an engagement of music, melody and melancholy.

Story behind the song
I’m beginning to see a pattern here- young man is afraid to step up to the plate and commit! Rain is second guessing one self as well as the other person. With lines like, “second guess the sand…..second guess the ocean” it seems I am unwilling to trust even the undeniable.
Lyrics
Here I go slow. Here I , as snow. And I almost second guess your hands, and I almost second guess your motives, and I almost second guess the sand, and I almost second guess the ocean. Here my mind I, and my heart I, and this fear I, and with wings I…release. Gave up. here goes nothing. Somewhere in this never ending sea I have found you, and so it is forever. Please hands, go slow. Teach me, to love. Please time, stand still. Stretch for, thousands.
