Room 212 is a place of doubt, fear and pain; but, it's also a place of hope, mercy , peace and the grace of God. You see, Room 212 is the place where my son who was eleven at the time lie in a coma for almost a month after being hit by a car going 50 miles per hour three years ago. After he came out of the coma, he began to tell us how he went to heaven and saw Jesus and his grandpa after the car hit him. He had to relearn how to walk, talk, eat, read, etc... it's been three years and now he's playing drums live with our band! God is good! Room 212 is two dads and two sons. We combine the old and the new in a way that seems to work pretty well for us. Our prayer is that our music will be an encouragement through all the hard times and difficulties in life and through the times of rejoicing as well. God bless, much love, David L. Herring Room two twelve is: David Lee Herring(43)- lyricist, lead singer/rapper David Mark Turner(43)- lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, percussion, drum programs, background vocals David Anthony Herring(14)- drums in live concert and drum programs on "Nice, Clean Jesus" Justin Turner(20)- rhythm guitar and drum programs on "Save Me!(from myself) and lead guitar on "Nice, Clean Jesus" Room 212

Story behind the song
Back inlike October of 2004, Joe Clifford, the principal at the middle school where I work, came by my classroom and gave me a "Livestrong" braclet, and asked me to wear it in support of all the faculty in our school who had family who were battling cancer. At that time I didn't know anything about what "LIVESTRONG" was and I didn't didn't know it was related to Lance Armstrong. I found more about what "LiveStrong" meant through students in my sixth period class. Then,I then began to notice that a lot of students starting wearing the Livestrong bracelets. Upon asking them, most were not aware of the significance of the bracelet. So, I went to the website of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, and did some research and decided to write a song about it to let people know the significance behind the bracelets, and to be an encouragement. We want to encourage people with cancer and those facing other difficulties in their life that they can "Live Strong". This song was inspired by the students and faculy at W.H.M.S, and my hope is that it is an inspiration to you as well. My son is a true "survivor" as well. He's not a cancer survivor. But he is a survivor of traumatic brain injury. Three years ago when he was 11, he was hit by a car going 50 miles per hour and it didn't look like he had any chance to live. He was in a coma for almost a month. After he came out of the coma he had to re-learn how to eat, walk, talk, etc... He also had to completely re-learn how to read. At age 11, he had to start over completely reading on a pre-primer (or pre-kindergarten) level. Ms. Susana Rosario and Ms. Susan Davis at W.H.M.S. have spent hours and untold hours one-on-one with him, and now he just finished reading a "Captain UnderPants" book in two days!!! This is a miracle! He still has a long ways to go, but with teachers such as the dedicated ones at W.H.M.S. he will make it! Like Lance, David Anthony is a survivor. He had neurological damage on his left side of his body; he couldn't throw a ball, etc.. He went through over a year of therapy. Through music teachers such as Wayne Raymond at W.H.M.S., and Veil and the staff at the Music Bumb where he takes drum lessons, he now is becoming very proficient in playing the drumset; and he is learning the drum parts to our songs so that he can play with us live! You see, Room 212 is a place of doubt, hurt, pain, discouragement; but it is also a place of miracles. It's a place of mercy, grace, love and peace through the storm. Room 212 is the place where my son lie in a coma for almost a month in St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. That's why we named our band Room 212. David Anthony is now 14 and still struggles, but is a survivor. We hope this song will encourage all people not to give up hope, but to allow hope, peace and faith take them through the difficult times in their lives. Thanks, David L. Herring, Room 212
