The lyrics basically speak for themselves,... I feel it's best categorized as "Smooth Jazz", although I'm entirely open to other opinions re. this. It uses voice, flute, electric 6-string, electric Bass, & manually constructed percussion track.

It's just me, folks. Me, my instrutments, and my omnipresent muse. Blues, jazz, rock, country - any mix which fits is what I do.
My music is an adventure of spirit - frequently, my freely-given gift to those I find myself with.

Story behind the song
Someday, the need for the "Ex-Father's Lament" will be history. For now, it's still relevant. This piece broke a bit of new musical ground for me, in terms of instruments and techniques. (It's the first one I finished, that included use of Flutes.) I hope you enjoy it!
Lyrics
"Last Night" From the "Ex-Father's Lament" Collection Copyright (C) 2004, by scruffyeagle.com All Rights Reserved. I saw you last night - and the world was right. I once knew that our love would never fade, and all our fantasies would come true. While the world went slipping past, you and I both cried and laughed - but, I couldn't guess what you would do. I saw you on the street - and in the bleeding light of lamps, you laughed about the things that you could do. I watched you through the injured eyes of love, flaunting what a monster you'd become. Endless fields of grain have passed. Hummingbird's beneath the cat. Turtle dove became (awww,...!) your turtle soup. I loved you - but, long ago, and far away,... Now, you're someone that I never knew. I dreamed you last night - and the world was right.
