Only the Neon Remains

After the fun-fair burnt down, all that remains is the twisted, burnt and rusting steel skeletons of the rides ... and very strangely, the neon signs still come on and flicker for a few brief moments at random times in the night. Maybe it's haunted!

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
An experimental, 'Progressive Metal', instrumental piece inspired by the images of a burnt down and now abandoned Sea-side fun-fair. I used my burgundy coloured Yamaha Revstar 420 and my orange flame coloured Yamaha Pacifica 612V guitars on this piece. All processed via a Line 6 Pod Go unit.

Great tone on that guitar. A lot going on in this song. How you put this together is beyond me. Very much enjoyed.

Great instrumental again David ! Love the guitar and the picture the whole sound creates . I’ve tried to write instrumentals but the little voice in my head says “ where’s the vocals , where’s the vocals , why no vocals ?! “ so it all falls apart ! Can’t do it like you ! Brilliant ! Very creative .

I really like this! The instrumentation & arrangement provide echoes of a once vibrant funfare as though we are looking back through time, while the edge in the music reminds us of how things are now. Quite haunting in many ways. Brilliantly done!
