DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Lyrics
PSALM 122 I WAS GLAD I was glad, very glad When they said unto me Let us go to the house of the Lord Our feet are standing within your gates Your gates Jerusalem Jerusalem, Jerusalem Is a well built city whose walls cannot be breached Seat of judgement, throne of the Royal Dynasty Jerusalem, Jerusalem Where the tribes of the Lord ascend on their pilgrimage and the people of God go up to worship His Name Pray for the peace of Jerusalem Peace within it's walls May there be peace within her gates and in her palaces Jerusalem, Jerusalem For the sake of family and friends I will seek your peace For the sake of the house of the Lord I will seek your good
