Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God
He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are!
'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music.

Part of the early 70's generation brought up on classical rock (Cream, Deep Purple) but was particularily infuenced by the late Rory Gallagher. My musical turntable probably got stuck somewhere in the early 70's and that probably reflects in the style.
Was also influenced in 80's by the music of the Marantha singers/musicians. I would describe myself as having broad musical tastes including classical, jazz and folk music
