Story behind the song
It was a journey for me in the summer of 1998. I visited UK first to meet my research friends in Reading and Edinburgh, and then flied to St. Petersburg to join an International Conference, and moved on land to Finland. This was not just a trip but a great journey to me despite the tight schedule. One day in Scotland, my friend took me driving to Highland area. It was a gorgeous touring. So, the first two sections are of my impression of the great day, and the final one is from a beautiful traditional folk song in the area.
Lyrics
There are the lyrics for the original traditional The Flower of Magherally, but I did not use them. I just borrowed the melody of the song to make the piece instrumental.
