Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
Not sure where this came from since I've been happily married for more decades than I can reliably count. Maybe I was ditched as a teenager once who knows. Or maybe I'm just tuned into the "poor me" mentality.
Lyrics
It was the 17th of August A perfect Summer's day As the white clouds sailed the summer sky My summer sailed away I didn't take a picture Perhaps I didn't dare If I had would I have captured Betrayal painted there? Never again My book of many chapters Just got pared down As if someone crossed the whole damn thing out Like it didn't count So I'm staring at what's missing Like the victim of a theft Because nothing hurts like nothing And nothing's all that I have left. Never again You think that I would hate you Send you suffering and pain But I'd forgive you in a heartbeat And love you back again Oh where would I find another Another such as you To pluck my heart and stab it Through and through? Again and again
