DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Story behind the song
A song with a tale of two very different destinies. Lyrics based on Psalm 1
Lyrics
PSALM 1 Two Paths Two Destinies Blessed the man who does not walk Where the wicked are prone to loiter Nor stand in the way of sinful men Nor sit in the seat of the scoffer His constant delight, the law of the Lord Which he studies by day and by night Like a tree firmly planted Whose fruit each season will yield It's leaf neither withers nor fades Whatever he does will surely succeed The works of his hands always prosper Not so the ungodly Like chaff which the wind blows away They have no share with the righteous Nor shall stand in the judgement day The Lord knows the path that the righteous take But the way of the wicked shall perish
