i finally got a brand new microphone!
i plugged it in
and it works real good.
i hooked up the software and i lit me a reefer!
i sat down and turned it on!
and guess what huh?
the words won't come!
they all ran away
the only one's that bothered to stay
are all stupid and mundane.
and when they are arrainged all they can say
is i wish it was yesterday.
i wish that you would have stayed.
i would never had said all those things i said
i would do it all so differently
and my life would have gone on so sweetly.

but i got this shiney new microphone
i plugged it in but the words won't come.
if i had any i would write down some
that would bring us back to yesterday.
back to the day you had love for me
back to the day before i said those things..
but i know there are no words that will bring you back to me!


worn out words falling on deaf ears
and not a single one can change a thing!
now i write about heartache and pain
and wish for the words that will make it all better again!
then i can plug it in and record them with my brand new microphone
