DESCENDANTS OF ASAPH Asaph was the first and chief musician in the early days before the temple was built in Jerusalem. By all accounts (1Chron 16v5) he was a percussionist and drummer and together with Heman and Jeduthun formed the first worship band to accompany the choir in praise and worship of God He wrote a number of psalm lyrics under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. His lyrics are very down to earth and he likes to say things exactly as they are! 'Descendants of Asaph' follow in his tradition and is a virtual band dedicated to making music and song unto the Lord and presenting His challenge to the world today through parables in music. Lyrics
HOSANNA! Where was His royal guard of honour The horse drawn carriage of gold? When He entered the city on His princely mount The back of an ass's colt? Singing Hosanna! Singing Hosanna! Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord Where was the pomp and ceremony The procession in royal robes? When so willing a man on so stubborn a beast To His grueling destiny rode? Would that you knew, Jerusalem The things that will make for your peace Soon you will chant a contrasting refrain But for now see your Saviour weep and sing.. Hosanna! Hosanna! and sing Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes And sing Hosanna! Sing Hosanna! Sing Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes Blessed the King who comes in the name of the Lord
