Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
A light-hearted take on the old secret society theme
Lyrics
Thirteen dark and dread-filled days Since I made the discovery. Pieces falling into place That didn't occur to me. Bad things started happening Ever since they knew I knew. What sort of people Had I become a danger to? Now someone's following my car And montoring my credit cards And who are those women in the dark glasses? Could it be the Sisters of the Stolen Stars? (Yes it's quite possible) Everywhere you look there's secret symbols Hidden in plain sight. They've already won the war Even without a fight. Just think about it - who knows who, And who are they working for? The world I thought I knew Can't be the same any more. I can feel them closing in, Cutting off my oxygen. Everywhere I go, there the are: The sinister Sisters of the Stolen Stars Trusting no-one takes its toll I feel panic setting in. I hadn't even told my girl So I had to let her in. The way that she reacts makes me Realise that something's wrong. Then one look in her eyes and I know She's been ONE OF THEM ALL ALONG! No-one hears my stark despair Screamed into the empty air. You run and you run but you don't get far From the clutches of the Sisters of the Stolen Stars

Another Top hit from the Smivets, i can say surely, my fav alternative band in SC and beyond. Captivating power tune with stunning sky rocketing dialogue guitar - synth / hammond? Fantastic vocals and killer rythm section in a never stop ascending extasy. Brilliant.

Very commercial sound ! great pop rocker, luv the lyrics and everything about it !!!!!!!! I usually leave Alan to make the comments on behalf of Doomtrain 'cos he is the man of words, but having listened to this song a few times I have to say how impressed I am with it.There is a hell of a lot going off here and it is all mixed in very skillfully. As the 'musical' half of Doomtrain I can fully appreciate the time and effort you have put into this track. -- Quality stuff !!

Brilliant job! I can never work out if I'm on to something sinister or I'm just paranoid, lol - I can so relate to these lyrics! Very dynamic and powerful sounding song, a hint of the manic and bizarre, yet perfectly executed and blended together into a first class arrangement - absolute genius. Get knocking on those publishers' doors - this kind of stuff shouldn't be ignored.
