Have always wanted to do a cover of this iconic Mike d'Abo track (Rod didn't write it, but it's become synonymous with Stewart for sure over the years) Dig Mike, Dig Rod! This version is the OG glam country rock number.

some people get by with a little understanding, some people get by with a whole lot more..
think back to when Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart came up with 'I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite' in those crazy swinging sun drenched days in LA and if we don't think we've lost something we're crazy...but if we think it's coming back anytime soon then we are complete fools...and yes, that's Barbara Eden in right hand corner (Dig Tommy, Dig Bobby and Dig Barbara!) can you still recall in the juke box hall when the music played and the world spun round to a brand new sound in those far off days.. in their blue suede shoes they would scream and shout as they sang the blues, let it all hang out.. rock and roll..

Story behind the song
Rod's a brilliant artist (we've seen him live) and he, Bowie, the Stones, Wings and Alice Cooper were the acts who would release new music that Id be anticipating growing up in the mid to late seventies (can't count Lennon in during this period as he was MIA, baking bread...having said this I wore the grooves out on Shaved Fish & Rock and Roll, which was more than enough genius to see out that 5 year hiatus). We would all await their next release and I'd be on my pushie to the record bar to get whatever new one I had ordered (very civilised and no need for digital anything, lol - you'd talk to the assistant and theyd tell you when the release date was scheduled after they'd found out from the music rep and then theyd call you on the landline (it sat in the hall on a small table) to tell you it was there and off youd go..like so very uncomplicated...
Lyrics
so what becomes of you my love when they have finally stripped you of the handbags and the gladrags that your grandad had to sweat so you could buy...

How strange, I was listening to the Rod Stewart version of this only last week. I'd been playing my old LP version of his LP, Every Picture Tells A Story. Then I worked back and dug out. An Old Raincoat Never Lets You Down LP. This song is on that LP. Fabulous version mate.
