A slightly psychedelic song of optimism
indie beatles guitars pixies wildhearts clash cardiacs
Artist picture
Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
A song of hope, optimism and the belief that fortune can be changed just by believing it can. Presented for the impressively groovy Clickers Club psychedelic challenge May 2017. In contrast the picture is from Jude the Obscure, where they believed everything would be OK and of course it wasn't.
Lyrics
When things go wrong you start to think That nothing good can ever happen The darkness gets under your skin And you begin to see a pattern But everything can change The sun can chase away the rain And we'll be on our feet again you'll see 'Cause I think we'll be OK now I think the worst's behind us The good time's on its way now Let dark days never find us Everything in sight Is going to be all right Some people just seem blessed with luck Whilst we're just dealt one blow after another But don't let it get you down Whatever we don't have we'll always have each other Because everything can change The sun can chase away the rain And we'll be on our feet again you'll see 'Cause I think we'll be OK now I think the worst's behind us The good time's on its way now Let dark days never find us Against the run of play Everything's going to be OK

I think D. Bill and Irene said it all. Superb song, top notch performance, and as always, the writing is excellent.
That riff is going to be stuck in my head for days. Good times indeed. The 3:20 break is worth the price of admission alone, just a tiny bit demented in the best way possible.

Your guitar work always impresses me Steve. So expertly and cleanly delivered no matter the genre or tone. I was floored by your CC Blues Challenge track, "Wildcat Blues". And you have a great voice for rock and Blues. Rock on Sir Seth Smivet!

What a great message in this song! The intro killer riff has a George Harrison touch and the whole piece would have fit nicely into a psychedelic rock show from the 1970's. Your vocals shine and the great intertwining guitars add to another top class production from The Smivets. Absolutely love it!
