Chris J. Brown - May 9, 1958 - September 23, 2009
Chris J. Brown, AKA Mellosonic, passed away in his sleep Wednesday, September 23.
Chris will be sadly missed, not only as a grand musician, but also as a great friend. He was a constant, guiding light in our 3Fuzed music project and always an inspiration in moving it forward. He constantly made us laugh with his good-spirited insights and environmental rants.
Our group is having a hard time dealing with his passing. As Marc, our 3Fuzed drummer, said, "Despite I never met Chris personally, his death is harder on me than I expected. Making music together can be more than speaking together, because it´s the language of the soul somehow."
Follow the link to the 3Fuzed band page and you can listen to his music one more time.
Please leave some words here on this page, if you feel like... we miss him very much!

Chris' keyboard and piano playing were superb. His mother was a piano teacher, so he was playing recitals by the time he was 5 years old. He played with many bands in his career and was always a driving force. As a composer, his writing skills were inventive and accomplished. He created tracks that would inspire others to bring out their best. His engineering abilities were broad; as a computer software expert, he helped many with their music computer issues. Chris had a great set of ears, lending them to many mixes he performed for countless artists. He was always making sure our parts fit together when collaborating. I remember him saying; "when I do the main synth line there is a guitar line that totally clashes with the major scale - However every musician that I've played it for calls it a counterpoint line - It's right on the main synth line of the so-called head - Clashing's ok but it just doesn't sound right - the guitar is hitting a minor third against the major synth melody line. If you changed the passing note 1/2 step up it would be perfect." Chris also had a very collaborative nature, working with several internet artists, creating backing tracks and refining their mixes. Always willing to help with anything, anytime. He was generous with compliments and had inspiring plans for our group. He would leave us messages, saying: "OK I've been silent and been busy but I really want you guys to know how honored I am to collaborate with you...I don't know what will happen but I want all of us to be onstage together and I will do my best to make that a reality....peace/mello" His talent, energy and kindness will be truly missed.
