The Gift is quite simply one of the very best producers to emerge from the ever growing UK Urban music scene. With a cutting edge style that blends U.K and U.S Urban music with exotic elements and his unique sound Gift is fast attracting the attention of the best in the industry on both sides of the Atlantic and also accross Europe. Starting as an MC and DJ while at school Gift soon become bored of playing other peoples music so armed with a PC and a copy of Fruity loops he began creating his own tracks. Gift was soon accepted on to a course at The British Accademy of Music along with artists such as DJ Ironik, Mista, S.O.N.A and many more. Around this time Gift joined East London rap collective STREET GIFTED becoming their in house producer and crafting tracks such as the FUTURE MUSIC MAGAZINE AWARD WINNING "Fuck fedz". The Gift has largely stayed unknown till now as he's concentrated on Networking and honing his craft, but this is all set to change throughout the course of 2009 with several Major projects already in the pipeline following the release of No.Lay's critically aclaimed debut Mixtape "No Comparisons" to which Gift contributed 3 tracks including the club banga "No.Lay said so", the Grime anthem "Premeditated" (featuring Aftershocks Badness) and the Tim & Barry TV featured "What a pitty". Gift is continuing to work with No.Lay on her follow up Mixtape and has already contributed several tracks for her debut album scheduled for release this summer. Gift is also now back in the studio working with up and coming RnB sensation MISTA, RnB Duo Kim & Lauren, Rycie and his collective Street Gifted. In late 2006 Gift and Access to music award winning producer S.O.N.A got together to form the production team IKONIX, since forming thay have already attracted the attention of managers here in the U.K, the U.S and accross Europe and have had interest from many Platinum selling artists including Lil Wayne, Cassie, Juelz Santana, Cam'ron, Bossman, Cashis, B.G and Slim Thug. IKONIX have recently begun working with up and coming U.S rapper Verbal Murder aka M.U, the first collabo being the club hit "YoYo" thats currently taking college radio stations accross the States by storm, UK singer songwriter Stephen P and UK Top 40 Chart act Addictive. Ikonix are set to work with several established and up and coming RnB/Pop artists and show the Industry that they are so much more versatile than the majority of Urban music producers. Whether its Hip Hop, RnB, Grime, Crunk, Pop or dance Gift and IKONIX are the ones to look out this year so make sure you remember the names cos your sure to hear alot from them this year.
