Hey yo--If I was just starting, I'd probably go cheaper--Reaper for a DAW (I've heard excellent results and it's practically free), one good mic & one good preamp, and headphones.
I'm loving my baritone guitar--it's d-e-e-p! I've used it on my last several recordings, and I think I'm getting the hang of recording the thing.
As for the holidays, [this portion of emaych's message has been deleted for incredibly, no, epically inappropriate language--the SoundClick staff].
:)
Cheers!

Hey! Audio production? Cool--you can give me advice. I've been doing recording--s-l-o-w-l-y but steadily over the summer, on my ProTools/Mac platform, but am balking at the cost of a major upgrade...instead, waiting for my new Bear Creek Weissenborn guitar! I'm also loving my new pellet stove. Now, if it could only burn leaves. :)
Cool new pic, btw. As for music, as always. Are you doing any recording? You could be Lady Ha Ha

Well, howdy--that's some news! What's up with that? And you bet I'd be up for doing some music. It's good to know a month in advance, too. I'll begin cleaning today & should be about halfway done by the time summer arrives.
I'm gonna dig some big holes today for several roses. If that doesn't sound exciting I don't know what does.

Hey there you--Christmas is coming on & I'm in recording mode--I even tried my hand at writing a country Christmas song for yet another contest. I guess I was trying to channel Ray Price & Ernest Tubb, two of favorites, but all I managed to do was demonstrate pretty much why I'm not going to quit my day job anytime soon.
Hope all is well and that you've learned your Bm chord. It's a goodun. Drop a line or call when you're in town & maybe we can do some recording.

Hi Sarah,
I just heard a sampling of your work via Michael Hughes.
For what it's worth you have that vocal quality that makes me want to assure you that I can solve all your problems and take care you you for the rest of your life...keeping in mind that in real life that may not ever happen.
Wait...I'm not saying that your singing is a problem, because it's anything but a problem...it's just...well...you could sing the alphabet and make me feel like I want to find the man(or woman) that's making you feel this way, and make them absolutely clear that it's best that they no longer make you fell this way...or something like that.
Incredible vocals, and for what it's worth,I really enjoyed hearing the Comfortably Numb sang from a woman's point of view...you might've just saved a relationship or two...

Ha! Congrats on your first solo gig! You musta practiced your guitar up, plus I hope you wore a watch cap. I've been playing classical guitar and my new slide, stressing at work, doing a senior project with a singer. Most recently, I've just now finished loading my instruments & amps into the car. Will check for gig directions every fifteen minutes. :) Keep me posted! And congrats again!
