Self-proclaimed “king of his peers”, he is a catalyst in hip-hop, promising to lead one of the nation’s hidden music scenes out of exclusion. His stimulating style reveals his formula for changing the status quo at a consistent and effective pace. Being a hip-hop connoisseur, King Kan encompasses the people, lifestyle, and most importantly the music. With infectious lyrics about everyday people and everyday things—he wants to be the medium for escape.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria of an American mother and Nigerian father, King Kan has been destined for prominence since day one. After befriending Legato Pryce and reAce, his raison d'être started to become more apparent. He responded to the allure of the music industry's calling in his early 20's and thus has embarked on a self-motivated rise to significance within the realms of his peers through a refined process of personality and pride, coupled with a distinctive and intricate array of lyrical syntax, style, and his signature “serene swagger”.
Unlike many market-driven rappers, Kan's subject matter is unique and varied. While ideally, Kan is a flashy, party-starting playboy, he is also heavily influenced by his past experiences.
