I grew up in a family that was used to making their own entertainment. There was a piano in every house. My grandfather owned an old guitar that I adopted and taught myself to play. He also had a banjo that i tinkered with.
I played in a band starting at about 15 years old and only slowed down for the years when I was traveling on business too much for a commitment like a band.
