Growing up in many rural towns all over the state of New South Wales, Australia. From Newcastle to Tweed Heads, Forbes, Dubbo, Bowral, Nowra and finally to Sydney (Balmain).
I began learning the guitar at age 14, naturally a lefty I had no access to left handed guitars so unfortunately I had to teach myself to play right - handed. I began fronting rock Bands at 16 with guys from school and played at the school formals and house parties. After completing school in 1994 I moved to Sydney to pursue my passions for music by attending The School of Audio Engineering, within that time I formed a band with some old freinds I reunited with from when I was 14 the band was called P.I.E ( Perspective Is Everything ) for the two years that we were together we performed at almost every originals venue in Sydney and Recorded an E.P. which made it on to a compilation album of some of the top local independant acts playing at the time. After breaking up in 1997 I bagan to pusue my solo career forming a band called Benn Gunn after perforning several local shows and and adding an extra guitarist the band became The Gunn. Recording an E.P. in 2003 the band all went there seperate ways ( funny how that happens ), in parallel with this act I formed a Pub Rock covers band called Arfa Mongrel and the Swinging Love Rocks www.swingingloverocks.com.au and have picked up the peices of my solo act Benn Gunn and am currently in pre- production of my debut album.
