Kyle Jordan, known to most as Kal-J, was born November 23rd 1985, in Indianapolis, Indiana.Though, he was always a fan of Hip-Hop music, it wasnt until about 2001, when he decided to get into it himself. He was a sophomore in high school, attending North Central. He was 16, years old when he first gave rapping a try. "I started doing it, because I was a big fan of it, and some of my friends were rapping,so I'd thought I would try it". But that didnt seem to last long. After writing only one verse, Kal retired for over 3 years.
Fast forwarding time to the year 2004, Kal-J a graduate from high school, sitting at home watching music videos. A couple commercials play, then Boom! brand new Fabolous video comes on. Kal-J remembers perfectly. "Soon as I
saw "Breathe", I was like, "Whoa!!!". That was the hardest song I had heard in a long time. Right after the video went off, I was extra hype, and instantly took out my notebook. I was ready to rap". He then went on writing only a couple more verses, before he stopped once again. But his favorite memory comes a little later down the line, when he bought, "On My Way To Church" by Jim Jones. "That was it. Soon as I listened to that cd, I was inspired again. I knew that I wanted to make music.
Though Kal has been compared to some high quality MC's such as Juelz Santana, Papoose and Jay-Z, he believes his style of rap is unlike anyone elses. "I do like being compared to those guys, but I think my style is different fro
