In case you're looking at this?? I should tell you everything i record/mix is done through Phillips cheap cordless headphones, It will [probably] sound worse through speakers.
Also definitely turn off your surround sound feature, it "garbles/warps/fragments" some digital media, remember that if anything digital is coming out of your speakers or phones funny.

My recording chain for everything is [Whatever guitar] to [sometimes compressor pedal] effects unit [Korg Ax100g or Zoom G1] to 4 track tape Recorder.
I then send that to the input of the AC97 standard el cheapo soundcard in the computer and record it in Kristal audio engine. I am very cheap and so is this.Contact
