Ambient

Welcome to my SoundClick page. It features songs from my debut independent CD release, 'Into the Eye of the Sun', my second release 'Wood And Wires' and the newest album, which is still in the works. These tracks cover a wide musical spectrum, so sit back, fire up the lava lamp and enjoy the ride! Feel free to leave a comment on the message board or to drop me a line anytime.
Band/artist history
I've played in numerous groups across Canada over the past 30+ years, including many popular rock, alternative, blues and tribute bands. There's been label/national management interest along the way, but the indie route is working fine for now. I'm looking forward to releasing more music in the months and years to come.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Most of the material on these albums would be impossible to reproduce alone on stage, due to the multiple layers of guitar and backward tracking. I do love performing, though, so there's always the possibility of a live situation down the road. As much fun as recording is, there is nothing like connecting with an appreciative crowd.
Your musical influences
Basically anything that challenges our notion of what music is and the impact it can have. A short-list would include Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Santana, Neil Young, Daniel Lanois, Bob Marley, Soundgarden, The Pixies, Jane's Addiction, Radiohead, Tool, The Ramones, Brian Eno, APC, Pink Floyd and Nirvana, to name but a few.
What equipment do you use?
I'm currently using a PRS CE24 electric guitar along with a Mesa/Boogie Express 5:50 amplifier. This material was produced mainly on a Boss BR-8 deck and an old Fostex 260 cassette 4-track that gave up the ghost. Lately I've been recording on a MacBook, trying to figure out how to properly use GarageBand.
Anything else?
To quote Sri Chinmoy, "Musicians should give something new; they should give the world music that comes directly from the soul, music that will help humanity raise its consciousnessnot the things that have been known for many, many years, but the things that people have never seen or felt or heard."
