Kenn Crawford is a published songwriter from the coal mining town of Glace Bay, on Cape Breton Island (Nova Scotia, Canada).
The picturesque coastline, the rolling hills of Margaree, and his love of Cape Breton are the inspiration behind many of his songs.
Like many of his fellow Cape Bretoners, he was forced to travel west in search of work, but the Island continually called him "Home".
Kenn Crawford's was selected and published by Allister MacGillivray in THE CAPE BRETONER magazine as the featured song while , performed by 10-year old Ashely Smith, is receiving tremendous reviews. Kenn co-wrote Dear God with Ashely's mother (Angie Smith of Georgetown, Ohio) and it is currently being aired on WAOL 99.5 FM.
The GOD'S OF MUSIC wrote the following when they heard Dear God: "This one tugs on your heart strings, big time. It is a poignant song, sung by a little girl with a big voice."
Kenn spends as much time as he can in his Recording studio and just recently opened CLAN CRAWFORD STUDIO, a ProTools-based studio to help other Cape Bretoners record their songs. I am a fellow Cape Bretoner, and spend a lot of my time going to sea. Play button accordion and a few other instruments, and after I saw your soundclick, I got an account too. Only put one song up so far but am working on a few others. Mostly cover stuff and old gospel and folk.

i heard your song "dear god" over on DJ vickie's page, and it sounded so beautiful that i just had to visit your band link to hear more, so with my cup of hot tea i came over to your music page to play the rest of your songs, and enjoyed my visit very much. "dear god" has such a powerful lyric and is made even more moving by ashley's lovely voice and delivery of it. i also really liked "someone's watching over me", which brittany sings beautifully too, "home" is also very lovely, great melody. i have added you to my station and wish you much success.
