The band is me using Sibelius notation software, plus Garritan Personal Orchestra.
Band/artist history
I have been writing music since the early 1970s, and still have the bulk of my compositions dating back to 1973 (beginning with Book 2all but a page or two from Book 1 has been apparently lost, but it's no real loss...really). But in the 1990s, I had gotten too busy with other things to continue composing.
But I decided to get back to writing music by March of 2006, and in short order I discovered Sibelius 4.
As I began to compose again, I sought out information on MIDI, and that lead me to the Music Contest and Midi Original Archives, a.k.a. Midi-Contest, which has further re-energized my desire to compose. Now I'm also a member of My Music Contest. I am also a member of The American Composer's Forum and CompositionToday.
That, then, is what brings this all about. I know I'm having a great time writing music again, and exploring some older pieces I have forgotten about. I hope you enjoy listening to what I've created.
Your musical influences
Elliott Carter; Yes; Emerson, Lake & Palmer; Frank Zappa; Stravinsky; Harry Partch...
What equipment do you use?
Dell XPS 400, Creative Labs X-Fi, Sibelius 5 & Garritan Personal Orchestra, occasional other quality sound fonts.
Anything else?

Ok, to get a handle on it I began counting "1,2,3,4... 1,2,3..." for 7/8 time... (I guess the competition was searching for the next "Take Five"!) (Take Seven, here, of course...) piano sounds live, and the score sounds written rather than improvised... (I lost the feel of the 7/8 time now because I'm typing...) I would hazard that it's an electronic player piano! (because I don't hear a lot of dynamics...) The rhythm variations get a 10...
